Insurance & FAQs

I aim to be as transparent as possible about insurance, scheduling, and what to expect when starting therapy. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about working with me, including how insurance works through the platforms I use and how to get started.

Insurance

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I work with both Headway and Grow Therapy, which allows me to accept most major insurance plans. Coverage and availability can vary slightly by platform, so you might see different plans listed depending on where you schedule.

How do I know which platform to use?

If you already know which platform you prefer, you’re welcome to schedule directly through that option. If you’re unsure, the Getting Started page outlines both options side by side, and you’re also welcome to reach out with questions before scheduling.

Do you offer self-pay or private pay sessions?

Yes. I offer self-pay sessions in addition to working with insurance. Self-pay rates are established through both Headway and Grow Therapy and can be booked directly through either platform, just like insurance-based sessions.

General questions

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what’s bringing you in. We’ll review relevant background, discuss your goals, and make sure you have space to ask questions. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — the focus is on understanding what you’re hoping for and whether working together feels like a good fit.

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes. I provide therapy exclusively via secure telehealth for adults and couples throughout Illinois. Telehealth allows for flexibility and consistency, while still offering meaningful, effective therapeutic work.

How do I know if you’re a good fit for me?

Therapy works best when there’s a good fit. I tend to work well with adults and couples who are reflective, curious, and open to looking at patterns — even when it’s uncomfortable. My style is warm and collaborative, while also being direct and practical. A brief consultation can help determine whether working together feels like the right next step.
